Frequently Asked Questions

Owning a Thermomix is a big decision and not one that happens without asking some important questions first. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I receive when I’m organising and doing demonstrations.

The answers to these questions have to mean something to you. So, if this doesn’t answer them sufficiently, please contact me and I’ll be able to provide you with more information or answer a question I haven’t covered here.

The other place to check out what questions people are asking or to contribute your own is my Facebook Page – it’s a great way to learn from each other.

I’m too busy – I don’t have time.

We’re all busy, but we all have to eat. The Thermomix caters to a wide range of expectations around preparation and cooking times. You can steam vegetables and chicken easily within 20 minutes, make a risotto within 17 minutes, or spend more time making more complex dishes. Imagine finishing off your meal with homemade egg custard in 7 minutes!

But while your meal is cooking, you can be helping the kids with homework, putting on a load of washing or kicking back with a glass of wine.

I’m not a cook!

Wow well hold onto your hat because the new Thermomix TM6 model is a smart, connected appliance where you can enjoy step-by-step guided cooking directly on the screen of your Thermomix. Use your touchscreen to control time, temperature and speed using manual mode. Check it out here

The TM6 has its WiFi connectivity built-in. This connectivity and the large screen enable you to browse Cookidoo, our online recipe library.

The Thermomix TM6 has 20 functions so you can blend, braise, chop, crush, caramelise, heat, knead, grate, grind, juice, mix, mill, mince, puree, weigh, whip, stir, steam, sauté, stew, slow-cook and sous-vide food quicker and easier than ever.

On the large, colour touchscreen your smart, connected TM6 beautifully displays digital recipes with step-by-step guided cooking. From here you can access Cookidoo.com.au, our global recipe library of over 50,000 Thermomix recipes – including over 2,300 Australian recipes – from over 15 countries.

There is even an APP

I have a large family.

So do I! I have three teenagers in my house – two of them are boys. Thermomix and the included Varoma (steaming accessory) enable you to cook for up to a dozen people.

The Thermomix risotto recipe makes up to 2 litres of risotto and the warm chicken and couscous salad will easily feed 12 people. The sorbet recipe (a bit of a favourite) will easily provide one scoop each to 10 people.

There’s only two of us.

Thermomix makes cooking for one or two people easy – allowing time poor couples and solos to make nutritious food quickly. We even have a recipe book called Cooking for me and you,

And don’t forget you can always freeze or refrigerate your leftovers for lunch or a no-fuss dinner the next day.

My family like meat and veg.

So do mine! There’s nothing quite like it. But Thermomix can make the preparation of these dishes easier. The Chicken Kiev recipe is an example, where you can make the breadcrumbs in the Thermomix, along with garlic butter. While the chicken is cooking in the oven, you can make your mash potato and steam your vegetables in the Thermomix. No packets, preservatives or pre-mades! There is also delicious meatloaf – where you even make your own mince!

This is just one example of how you can adapt the Thermomix to suit you and your family. Even a steak on the BBQ can be accompanied by a mango chutney made in the Thermomix, or sweet chilli or barbecue sauces…the possibilities are endless.

With the slow cook and sous vide functions of the TM6 our meat and veg lovers are well catered for.

And lets not forget a nice cold glass of Sangria or a Margherita while your meat is cooking!

I’m not organised.

You can’t fight these things! But there are some things you can do that will make it easier. The extended Thermomix family is constantly providing ideas and resources to keep it interesting. Meal planning on cookidoo and the shopping list functions make meal time planning a breeze – ask me to show you how it works.

What’s the price?

$2269 is the bottom line if you’re looking at a full payment.

You can do it in three easy instalments, with a no deposit payment plan* or even better…become a consultant and earn one!

Will I save money?

Thermomix makes it possible to save money. Some examples are:

A Boost Juice style drink is about $7.60 cheaper for 600ml when made in a Thermomix.

You can save about $2 grating your own Parmesan (250g).

I make my own yoghurt for $1.30/litre…compare that to up to $6 plus for some 1L premium natural yoghurts at the supermarket.

Thermomix have done calculations that savings can also be achieved by using less energy to cook with and less water to clean. Add that to the ability to buy in bulk, when on sale and requirements for foods with less packaging, it’s a win: win all round.

I already have lots of appliances!

Time for a spring clean! Organise that garage sale now…or donate them to charity. You’ll be clearing out your cupboards and shelves because the Thermomix can replace the blender, mix master, food processor, rice cooker, bread maker, soup maker, coffee grinder, even that heavy old mortar and pestle!
